Women’s March: Foremothers

To all my Foremothers,

I apologise for not knowing your name,

Although you carried generations in your womb;

I apologise while you bled in despair,

Only to hold your female heir,

People taunted at your failure;

I apologise for not knowing your name,

When you fought for my breath;

I apologise for calling you weak and tamed,

Even when you were my enceinte from the evil ;

I apologise for not knowing you name,

As you died under burden of our “birth-duty” ;

I apologise I let you go

Before I knew who were

I apologise, I apologise, I apologise,

To all my foremothers and their mothers and theirs,

I don’t know your name
