The Monash University Volunteer Program (MUVP) organized a charity fair from the 21st to the 24th of August 2023.

The fair was divided into segments, with Monday and Tuesday being the biggest days for the event. A large variety of vendors were present creating a lively bazaar atmosphere selling everything from homemade food to jewellery and artisanal crafts. There were also stalls by a number of NGOs such as World Vision, Suriana, Dignity for children and the UNHCR promoting the vital work they do in helping vulnerable and marginalized communities.
The rest of the week saw more vendors as well as games organized by the MUVP to truly create a fun experience for everyone.

The main goal of this event was to raise funds for the MUVP’s yearly charity project. Accordingly, all profits earned from this fair will go into purchasing supplies for NGO’s involved in community welfare projects, supporting them in continuing their important work in helping those in need.

All in all, the event was a successful one. Supporting small businesses, promoting the good work done by important NGOs, and creating a much-needed fun atmosphere, all the while involving the university community in supporting a good cause. It was evident that a lot of passion, hard work, and planning had been poured into this event, which was a clear display of the MUVP’s commitment to their cause.
