The very first MUSA Intercampus Night was a joint Publicity and Activities venture that aimed to foster closer relationships between the students from various student councils in the Klang Valley area including Taylors Student Council (TUSC), Inti Subang Student Council (INTIMA), Herriot Watt Student Council (HWUMSA), International Medical University (IMUSRC), APU Student Council (APUSRC) and of course we cannot forget our neighbors, the Sunway University Student Council (SUSC).

The event took place at the badminton court, with it being tastefully decorated by the hardworking subcommittees of the Publicity and Activities department (shoutout to all our sub-comms from all departments you guys are the reason things get done around here!) Our night kicked off around 7.30pm as all the student council members and representatives took their respective seats at their assigned tables. Hosted by Jackson Koh, one of the Publicity Officers, he warmly introduced all the student council members and thanked them for coming to the event (especially HWUMSA, who came all the way from their campus in Putrajaya!). He then invited everyone to enjoy the spread of food that had been laid out including three different pasta dishes from the Little Fat Duck food truck.
Once bellies were filled and introductions were made, we came to the game sessions portion of the night, which kicked off with a fashion show, with each student council sending in both a female and male representative. Each council did their best to strut their stuff on the runway, making use of any creative props and or fashion items that they had brought along with them. After burning up the runway, it was time for everyone to vote for the “Queencard” and “Kingsman” of the night, the former going to Kirara from MUSA and the latter to Aaron from SUSC! All the winners of the night were gifted with tote bags filled with snacks and goodies.

After everyone had started to get into the spirit of things, all the participants were split equally into teams of 6 and the second game kicked off with a scavenger hunt which consisted of 60 items that the teams had to take pictures with within 20-25 minutes. The pictures would then have to be uploaded via a Google form and the team with the most completed tasks would win. In a rush, all the teams ran off looking for the items to complete the itemized list. All too soon, we were corralled back into the badminton court to upload the finalized pictures.

Whilst the Activities team were busy verifying all the pictures that had been sent in, we then played “Guess Who?”, a game in which teams would have to compete to be the quickest to guess the picture of a celebrity and/or historical figure flashed onto the screen. Competitive tendencies flashed and voices overlapped one another as players shouted to be heard. Thankfully, there were hosts to moderate and regulate the rules of the event or else it might have all tumbled into chaos.
All in all, the event was a rousing success, the night finally ending at 9pm with new friendships forged and war stories of administrative work being exchanged. Being part of a student council can oftentimes be frustrating and lonely, especially if there aren’t that many people that we can share our troubles with but it is always comforting to know that there are people who are in the same boat as us.
