Dearest Readers,
After a jaw-clenching, nerve-wracking, unfinished first council meeting, the student association gathered for the second chapter. While I must say that today’s meeting was much more laid-back, the council still has much to tell!
Working On The Technical Stuff
As dull as it might sound, it is essential to set the technical stuff to ensure the smooth running of MUSA 2024. This includes fine-tuning the mundane yet crucial elements such as delegated emails for each office bearer, access for venue booking, the Event Management System (EMS), and the fully operating Fund Tracker.
Welcoming A New Chapter: The Orientation
Buckle up, fellow Monashians! February is approaching soon, which means it’s time we welcome thousands of freshmen into their college life. I, myself, am excited to see what’s cooking (literally, we all can use some free food in this critical time) in the Activities Department for the upcoming February Orientation. Expect nothing but a scene straight out of a Gossip Girl soiree with a Monash twist! I’m sure we can entrust this flagship event to our Activities Chairpersons and even more surprises from each School Representative!
High Hopes, High Stakes: The Study App Initiative
Exciting news is coming from the Vice President’s Department as they try to make one of their manifestos come true, particularly the Study App Initiative. Reaching out to Student Life with innovative ideas, one can only hope for a favourable outcome that would send waves of relief and excitement across our scholarly community.
An Invitation to Join the Drama
For those yearning to be part of this splendid narrative, stay tuned for the upcoming February Sub-committee Recruitment. Do follow @musa.officialpage or your department of interest to seize the opportunity to write your own story in the annals of MUSA (especially in the best department in yours truly’s opinion, Monga).
Save The Dates: It’s C&S Week!
Besides the February Orientation, another highly-anticipated event is in the making. Are you excited to engage in our Clubs and Societies? Remember to keep an eye out for the C&S Department as they have set the dates for the first C&S Week in 2024. Clear out your agenda from March 5th to March 8th if you want to have the chance to explore Monash’s diverse clubs and societies and catch up with some good performances and refreshments!
In The Efforts To Stay Sane
Navigating the turbulent waters of university life can be a daunting task (believe me, we have all been there), but fear not. The Welfare Department, like a guiding light, has laid out a series of events for Semester 1 2024, including Time Capsule, International Women’s Day, Mental Health Talks, and many more! A testament to their dedication to our collective well-being.
From The Editors Ourselves
Last but definitely not least, the editors have been busy with the orientation itself as we are currently preparing the Holy Bible for February Orientation (re: Orientation Booklet) to guide all the freshmen throughout the event while exploring the city. Besides that, we want to give a friendly reminder to our beloved readers to collect their copies of the 2023 Magazine on the 19th, 23rd, and 26th to 28th of February 2024 from 10 am to 5 pm. To close today’s society paper, we are delighted to announce that our Event Coverage sheet will be uploaded at the end of February.
Until our paths cross again at the next MSC meeting, I bid you adieu. May your secrets remain safe and your ambitions soar!
