As we are all aware, Semester 2 is currently in full swing, including the beginning of Monash Cup matches (GO CULEBRE!) therefore, this MUSA DID WHAT will be as short as my sleep schedule for the past week (thank god for caffeine)
TEDx
Calling all potential Steve Jobs!! The Vice President’s department is currently looking for keen student speakers with innovative ideas to speak at TEDxMonashUniversityMalaysia, which will be taking place in the month of October. This year’s theme is “Cracks in the System” and applications in the form of video submissions will be open from the 19th of August till 31st August.
The Most Anticipated Event of them All
Monash Ball has always been one of the crown jewels of MUM events and I am pleased to reveal that, after much persuasion on my part, the Activities Department is currently researching and shortlisting venues and themes, with the event predicted to take place after this semester’s finals, so guys let’s all work hard so that we can finally let our hair down after 12 weeks of torture and finally experience our first Monash Ball after two years!
P.S.: Dear Activities Department, Taylor’s set the bar already with their Orientation Rave, let’s top that hehe
MedNight
However, it looks like School of Medicine and Health Science students will not have their schedules packed as they will be holding their very own Med Gala 2022, located at Element Hotel Kuala Lumpur on the 20th of November 2022, with more than 80 students expressing interest in the event.
Sign Language Workshop
Finally, the Welfare Department as well as the School of Science will be collaborating with each other in order to conduct a sign language workshop at RC Deaf Missions on the 3rd of September from 1-3pm. This event aims to increase accessibility within the STEM field. For all those who are interested but might not have transportation on the day itself, fret not as it will be provided for you!
MUSA DID WHAT #6 Highlights
- So many events in here where do I begin [I really hope someone gets this reference or else I’m going to be really sad :( ]
Anywho, I shall now end the 6th MUSA DID WHAT article and practise table tennis so that I don’t get trashed during my Round Robin sessions. To all participants in Monash Cup, I wish all of you the best of luck (although I may be the tiniest bit biased).
