“I got no time to lose”

Everyone strives to leave a piece of themselves behind. A legacy if you will, something that will immortalize their names in the insurmountable, ever-changing river of time and history. And everyone thinks that, to make an impact we have to do something extraordinary (curing cancer, saving the world from global warming, winning a Nobel prize), in order for their names to be remembered. But I think the smallest things are the best to remember: the color of someone’s eyes, the ratty, far too sentimental soft toy you can’t seem to get rid off, the friendship bracelet you made when you were in kindergarten.

This thematic month invites all of you to pour in small pieces of yourself into our very own time capsule, no matter how insignificant. We promise to keep, cherish and preserve them in our magazine so that when the apocalypse (whether in the form of aliens or an eventual robot takeover), history will look back at our collective legacies and see only raw, powerful humanity looking back at them.

How to participate?

1. Submit your writing piece (essays under 1000 words, poetry, etc.) or visual artwork (comics, photographs, illustrations, paintings, etc.) via our submission link (link in bio) before 9th of May 2023.

2. Stand a chance to get your creative work featured in MONGA and win RM45 worth in Grab Voucher(s). Winners will be announced on 12th of May 2023.
